1. Getting started

In shortSign in with Google, tap Scan, and photograph your first card.

Kept keeps your greeting cards as a collection you can actually browse, instead of a box you never open.

  1. Open Kept and tap Sign in with Google. Your collection is tied to your Google account so it is available on any device you sign in on.
  2. Tap Scan at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Photograph the front of the card, then the inside. Kept keeps both together as one card.
  4. Add who it was from, the date, and the occasion, then save.
  5. Tap View at any time to browse everything you have saved.

2. Scanning cards

How do I get a clean scan?

Put the card on a surface that contrasts with it — a dark table works well for a pale card — and photograph it straight on in even light. Kept finds the card's edges and crops it for you.

The crop came out wrong

Open the card, tap Crop, and drag the corners to where they should be. Save when you are happy. The corrected version replaces the old one.

Can I add a card I photographed earlier?

Yes. When scanning, choose a photo from your library instead of taking a new one.

Can one card have more than two sides?

Yes. Cards can hold as many pages as you need — useful for long letters or cards signed on every panel. Page through them by tapping the dots when a card is open.

3. Organising your collection

How is my collection sorted?

Cards are grouped by date, newest first, and labelled with who sent them. Cards without a date are grouped separately so you can fill them in later.

Can I change a card's details after saving?

Yes. Open the card and edit the sender, recipient, date, or occasion at any time.

Can I download my cards?

Yes. Open a card and choose to download it, and the original full-resolution images are saved to your device. Your cards are never locked inside Kept.

4. Sharing with family

In shortYou invite people by email, and you approve them. Nothing is public.

How do I let family see my cards?

Open Settings from the gear icon and invite someone by email address. When they sign in to Kept with that address, they can view the cards you have shared.

What can the people I invite do?

They can view your collection. They cannot add, edit, or delete your cards.

How do I stop sharing?

Remove them from the same Settings screen. Their access ends immediately.

Is anything ever public?

No. Kept has no public feed, no profiles, and no discovery. Nobody sees your cards unless you invite them by email.

5. Account and sign-in

Why does Kept need a Google account?

Signing in is what keeps your collection yours and lets it follow you between devices. Kept uses Google Sign-In so there is no extra password to remember.

Can I use Kept on more than one device?

Yes. Sign in with the same Google account and your collection is there.

How do I delete everything?

Open Settings and choose to delete your cards. This permanently removes them and cannot be undone, so download anything you want to keep first.

6. Your data and privacy

In shortNo ads, no data selling, no strangers.

Your cards are stored in your own private collection. We do not sell your data, show you advertising, or use your cards to train anything.

Kept asks for camera access only to photograph cards, and photo library access only to import card images you choose. Neither is used for anything else.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

7. Troubleshooting

Sign-in isn't working

Check that you have a working internet connection, then try again. If Google offers to verify you with a passkey and it fails, choose Try another way and use your password instead.

The camera won't open

Kept needs permission to use your camera. Go to Settings → Kept on your device and turn Camera on.

My cards are slow to appear

Card images are downloaded from your collection, so a slow or intermittent connection will show itself here. On a weak signal, give it a moment. If it persists on a good connection, let us know.

A card is missing

Check that you are signed in with the same Google account you saved it under. If it is still missing, email us — do not delete anything first, as that makes it harder to recover.

8. Still stuck?
